This past weekend, we joined our long time sponsor "Bullsye Power Performance Turbos" at the ADRL's Flowmaster Drag Stock VI!!! This event was held at the World Famous "Rock", Rockingham Drag Way in Rockingham North Carolina!!! David Hall & Bill Devine from Bullseye Power warned us that we would see crowds like we have never seen before and boy were they ever right!!! Every inch of the stands and side lines of Rockinghams Dragway were packed to standing room only!!! We were a little concerned showing up to run with a new series and in front of a new fan base. But those concerns were quickly dismissed as we recieved a very warm and freindly welcome from the ADRL Staff, ADRL Competitors and most importantly the ADRL Fans!!! The fans instantly fell in Love with the Paradise Racing Celica and its turbocharged 4 cylinder power plant!!! The 146 Cubic Inch Terror as one of the fans named it!!! Crew Cheif Rolan Monsanto and Operations Director Mark Morusiewicz spent the weekend with fans and even some curios racers showing them the in and out of the Paradise Racing Celica and educating everyone on the Bullseye Power Performance Turbo Product Line!!! When all of the talking was done, we prepped the Paradise Racing Celica and slapped on some Hoosier 33" X 10.5" tires for a weekend of action with the big boys in the Extreme Ten Five (XTF) class and boy what a weekend it was!!! We missed the first round of qualifying due to a faulty 2 step switch. Thanks to the guys at Tim McAmis Race Cars, we were able to replace the switch and make it out for the second round. Not knowing what to expect and wanting to make sure we were able to get down the track and put on a show for the fans, we set the car up a little soft and it payed off!!! We qualified in the 12th position with a 4.75 @ 157 mph!!! This is a personal best mile per hour run and gives us incredible hopes for what could be a record quarter mile run. But, thats another story for another time. On this pass, the car only went a 1.20 60ft and a 3.17 330ft. Knowing we had more on the table, we decided to go with the go or blow policy for the 3rd round of qualifying. Sadly, 3rd round was scrubbed due to time delays. So we were left with a final qualifer on Saturday morning. We go out and the car stands up, does a monster wheelie that sends the crowd wild and the Paradise Racing Celica just went right into one shattering earth quake of a tire shake that rattled the drivers teeth!!! With the pass aborted and the serious talent behind us in the staging lanes, we knew it was just a matter of time before we were bumped out. After all, there were 24 hot rods running 10.5" tires with names like Billy Glidden, Gary White, Chuck Ulsch, Spiro Pappas and a few others trying to get into 16 spots. The end result, we had a good time, got our sponsors some awesome exposure and we got to meet some great people!!! We had such a blast, that we will be attending a few of the ADRL events in 2010!!! See you next year Rockingham!!! First, we want to thank David Hall & Bill Devine from Bullseye Power for having us out!!! We would like to thank the folks at ADRL for giving us a safe and well ran place to race at!!! If you have never been to an ADRL event, you need to check their website, www.adrl.us and check their schedule out!!! You have got to go!!! I promise you will enjoy!!! Finally but not least, we would like to thank the thousands of fans that came by and enjoyed a good time with us!!! Thank you guys for the support!!! Stay tuned as we will be making a special announcement about our next event!!! Thanks to Mark Walter & www.DragStory.com for the pictures!!!!
