11/09/04 What a way to end the year!!! We just got back from the Maryland International Raceway "Import VS. Domestic" shoot out. Our first 2 attempts were met with major electrical gremlins. After tying down every single electrical connector and on our 3rd and last try for the night we ran our fastest time of the year!!! 8.43 @ 155mph with a 1.17 60ft This made us the quickest car at this event!!! We did this while still running "stock cams" and an "un-ported head"!!!!! Did I forget to mention the car weighs 2440 pounds with me in it???!!! Also, we finished the N.O.P.I. N.D.R.A. season 4th in points!!! Not bad for what started as just an engine development year???!!!

10/14/04 NHRA Sport Compact noticed one of our main sucess factors, good lights on the tree!!! They make mention of our awesome .039 light in the first round of eliminations against #2 in points Carlos Gonzalez at the E-Town event. Check the article out!!! http://www.nhraimport.com/2004/news/october/101202.html

10/07/04 We came, we raced, we kicked but and then went kaboom!!! We went out to the NHRA Sport Compact Nationals in E Town N.J. as a test for our trip to the NOPI Semi finals in TX and left with a few problems. But not before running our best 60ft time, 1/8 mile pass and defeating the number 2 points holder in the NHRA Sport Compact Modified Class. The car was moving on this pass as it went 5.35 @ 129mph to the 1/8 mile. Numbers show that if completed, this pass would have been a 8.3 to 8.4 pass!!! Amazing!!! Add to that an awesome .039 light to Carlos Gonzalez .099 light and we were destined to win. The car went lean on the top end and shutting it down before the 1000 ft mark the car still ran a 8.80 @ 125mph. We have traced the problem down to a defective fuel solenoid and will be testing the car this weekend. If all goes well, we will hit the road for the NOPI finals in TX. See you at the races!!!

10/07/04 Off to the races!!! The Pan American Nationals were off the hook!!! There were over 30 thousand spectators in attendance. Lots of beautiful women and dont even talk about the cars!!! I was lucky enough to get to meet allot of my customers and online friends in person. I also got to see the guys from Team Toyminator and a few of the members from Club 4AG. You know the magnitude of this event when I had one of my customers fly in from California!!! I only wish that I had more time to spend with them but it was a mad house!!!

09/20/04 Congratulations!!! To Ralphie and Mike "Gringo Racing" on their spectacular win at the Pan American Nationals this past weekend. They did it using Paradise Racing products!!!

09/20/04 Change of plans!!! Has curiosity ever gotten the best of you??? Well it has for us. Everyone involved with the Paradise Racing project is curious as to how far we can go with stock cams and an unported head. I know even you guys are curios as to how low the et numbers can go. So we have decided to go for it. We are putting in a fresh unported head and stock cams to go for a fwe more events. We are almost locked and loaded to head for West Palm Beach Florida for the NOPI Moroso do over. See you there this weekend!!!

09/02/04 Race Update!!! Have you ever been lazy and said that you were going to do something a little later? And before you do it you pay for it dearly? This is what happened to us at the NOPI Atco NJ event. All the way back in St. Louis (3 races ago) we had a problem with our water pump. It froze and over heated the motor. I knew this and needed to take the head of fix it and put in a new head gasket. But I said, "not today. it still starts and runs ok so lets keep it going." I could have written this off a R&D but I rather tell the truth. My name is Luis and I am a lazy bum!!! Well first round of qualifying we come out and in 4th gear water starts spraying all over the hood of the car. I shut it off in 4th and it still runs a 9.32 @115mph. We go to the pits take the head off and we see the damage. We take the head over to Paul Effantis (thanks for all the help!!!) he welds it up for us and then we head to a machine shop in Pennsylvania, get the head milled, come back to the track install it (its now 2AM). Start her up and she is alive!!! But unknown to us are 2 little cracks that were not only un weldable but invisible as well. We go out for last round qualifying and were off. 1st gear, 2nd gear, 3rd gear, 4th gear....splash water all over the car again. I shut it off and this time she ran a 8.77 @139mph!!! Thats a big number thinking that our best pass to date was a 8.76 @155mph. But unfortunately the weekend was over. But we are in reconstruction and now, were coming out with the gloves off!!! Dave Localio of Head Games is going to do a little (not enough time for allot) of his magic on our head and were dropping in the special grind cams that Lorri & Debbie over at Web Cams whipped up for us. So if you have a 4 cylinder Toyota and you """think""" your fast, watch out cause were coming after your title!!! Paradise Racing, the 2440 pound Gorilla!!!

08/17/04 8.76 @155mph!!! I told you we had some surprises left!!! Oh and by the way....SURPRISE its still a stock unported head and stock cams !!!!!! Unfortunately, thats the only good news I have for you. Why you ask? Our freind the rain came in and messed it all up on Sunday. Funny, we got away from the not one but two hurricanes and then a regular old fashioned tropical down pour killed all chances for the event.
